Da Stube Buben

Da Stube Buben performs at the May 20th kickoff celebration. This fun-loving duo, both whom have deep German roots, deliver a playful-style of traditional Bavarian party music that will get feet stomping, hands clapping and of course arms flapping the Chicken Dance! This duo packs a big punch! Da Stube Buben plays songs such as Let’s Go Beer Drinking to Beer Barrel Polka that will keep you singing along all day long!

Die Sauerkrauts

  • Saturday, May 27
  • Sunday, May 28

This spirited, lederhosen-wearing, professional polka-playing group of musicians  have been performing together since 2016. They deliver a hearty blend of polka, waltzes, and contemporary pop. Along with traditional German music, they mix it up the fun with pop, rock, funk and a variety of styles and covers. A lively show that is bound to get you on the dance floor!

Die Gemütlichen Schühplattler Dancers

  • Saturday, May 27
  • Sunday, May 28

Big Bear Lake Maifest is pleased to present Die Gemütlichen Schühplattler Dancers. The always entertaining dance troupe from Orange County performs customary Maypole dances on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28. Die Gemütlichen Schühplattler Dancers perform a lively show of traditional shoe-slapping, dirndl twirling, maypole-ribbon dancing, and playing wooden spoons.

German favorites – Log Sawing, Steinholding, and new this year Decorate The Maypole!
Pol Schmücken
New this year, is the Pol Schmücken contest that challenges three teams of three to decorate their own individual Maypole the fastest. This is no ordinary race. Each team member will have a different-colored, spool of ribbon. Once the starting bell rings, all three teammates must circle around the pole at the same time, bouncing around and dodging each other in the process; all while trying to beat the other two teams to the final bell. The first team that empties all three ribbon spools first wins. This new contest is expected to draw lots of fun-filled blunders and slipups, which in turn is certain to stir up plenty of hoots and hollers from spectators.
