A German Christmas Party
Create, Sing, Shop, Eat, Drink & Dance
Friday, December 16 and Saturday, December 17

Big Bear Lake, CA — The Christmas season is one of the most magical times of the year in the mountains. Where better to get into the Christmas spirit and celebrate this special season? Big Bear’s Christkindlmarkt celebrates the holiday with a German party and the enchantment of a small town Christmas faire. Enjoy an outing for the entire family from last minute Christmas shopping, to decorating your own Gingerbread cookie, to dancing the night away with one of So. Cal’s best German bands.

This year, Big Bear’s Christkindlmarkt has added more fun for the entire family including “build your own Hot Cocoa”, “decorate a Christmas Cookie,” “make a holiday ornament”, and a winter games. Contests include the popular Gift Wrapping, Christmas Steinholding, and Holiday Log Sawing. The Markt will once again feature Die Sauerkrauts, one of Oktoberfest fans’ favorite bands. Die Sauerkrauts play not only, a huge variety of German, but also top 40 and classic rock. Big Bear’s own “2022 Carnegie Kids and the Unaccompanied Minors” join the event on Saturday with a holiday blast of Christmas caroling.

The popular “Wishing Tree” will return. A new Christkindlmarkt tradition in Germany, guests place their Christmas wish in a clear ornament and hang it on the official “Wishing Tree.” Each evening the Wishing Tree will be lit up displaying the ornaments!

Visitors will also enjoy photo ops with the Christkind, a romantic, fairy like angel, dressed in white and gold, with golden hair topped by a golden crown. Christkind is the German equivalent of Santa Claus. Of course, father Christmas, St. Nicholas will also be on hand.

Tasty German fare includes Grilled Bratwurst, Curry Wurst, the infamous Brat Burger, and German Pancakes. German libations include homemade Gluhwein and hot Apple Cider. A full service bar will be available as well. American food will feature several of Wyatt’s favorites including burgers, flatbreads, chili, and street tacos.

The Big Bear Lake Christkindlmarkt takes place on Friday and Saturday, December 16 and 17. Admission and memories are FREE. Gates open on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and the fun continues through 10:00 p.m. On Saturday, gates are open from 2:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m. This is a rain, snow, or shine event featuring both indoor and outdoor activities. Children Activities, Live Band, Huge Balloon Drop, Complimentary Champagne Toast

Big Bear Lake, CA — Wyatt’s Grill & Saloon offers Big Bear’s only true family New Year’s Eve celebration featuring children’s activities, live music, dancing and dining. The perfect place for families looking to enjoy an evening out, one of Country music’s legendary bands, and great food.

This year’s New Year’s festivities at Wyatt’s features the legendary Doo Wah Riders. Having appeared in concert with the likes of Garth Brooks, George Strait, Tim McGraw, and Dolly Parton, the Doo Wah Riders are country with a unique, original sound. They have been featured entertainment at The Grammy’s, The Academy of Country Awards, and appear regularly at Disneyland, CA. It is high energy country with a cajun twist. The Doo Wah Riders take the stage at 8:00 p.m. Entertainment begins at 7 p.m. with a DJ spinning a variety of country and top 40 tunes.

New Year’s festivities at Wyatt’s offers a variety of children’s activities including an indoor bounce house and arts and crafts projects for children ages 3 years to 12 years. As always, the celebration includes a complimentary champagne toast at midnight, plenty of New Year’s party favors, a massive balloon drop, and a free ride home on the “Take Home” shuttle! The complimentary “take-home” shuttle service provides curb-to-curb take home service beginning at 8:00 p.m. For guests interested in getting a ride to the New Year’s party, the Big Bear Free Trolley offers service to the Wyatt’s and the Convention Center on the Gold Line. Wyatt’s, known as one of Big Bear’s favorite restaurants with hearty portions at ‘wallet-friendly’ prices. A special New Year’s menu will feature a variety of entrees, special children’s meals, appetizers and desserts.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m. with dancing beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Doo Wah Riders begin at 8:00 p.m. and the fun continues past midnight. Children’s activities will be available until 11:30 p.m. Seating is limited and reservations are highly recommended. Tickets are $22.00 for adults, $12.00 for 13 – 17 year olds, and $10.00 for children 12 and under. Wyatt’s Cafe and Saloon is located inside the Convention Center at Big Bear Lake.
